Kinloch

Kinloch Distillery stands on the corner of Longrow and Lochens Street and it was one of the oldest buildings in the town. It was built in 1823 and Lamb Colvill & Co earned the license. They ran the distillery till 1919 but West Highland Malt Distilleries Ltd bought it. In 1924 David MacCallum bought the distillery though it didn't last long and in 1926 it was closed. In 1928 the land was donated to the city. After that they used the land for houses. In the southern part of this land you can find a small road with his name on it. Now you can find a part of the wall from those days and the building that was used as an office is now used as a pub.
All the structures from those days were torn down from 2007 to 2008 except for the pub. They will be tidy upped for new road. (May/2008)
